We are honoured to welcome Shri Maheshwar Rao, Managing Director, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, as our Special Guest and Speaker at the 5th edition of InnoMetro – a global exhibition & conference for the rail transport industry.
Shri Rao, a distinguished 1995-batch IAS officer, brings with him extensive administrative experience and academic excellence. He has served as the Commissioner of Industrial Development and Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Karnataka.
In addition, he has held key leadership roles as the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate in Dakshina Kannada and Mandya districts, where he oversaw key administrative functions.
Academically, Shri Rao holds a BA in Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics from Nizam College under Hyderabad Central University, a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on Econometrics and Growth from the University of Hyderabad, and a Master’s degree in Public Management jointly from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Harvard University.
We believe his presence at the 5th edition of InnoMetro, scheduled to be held on 21–22 May 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Hall No. 4, will greatly enrich the dialogue on infrastructure planning and urban mobility.

We are honoured to welcome Shri Rajeev Tyagi, Director (Project), Maharashtra Metro Rail Corp Ltd., as our esteemed speaker for the 5th edition of InnoMetro, scheduled to take place on 21-22 May 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Hall no. 4, New Delhi.
Shri Tyagi is a senior official from the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE). He brings extensive experience in track modernisation. He has held various key positions within the Mumbai suburban system of Central Railway, where he was instrumental in the implementation of advanced track machines and maintenance practices.
Shri Tyagi has held the position of Chief General Manager at the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
During his career, Shri Tyagi has been recognised for his contributions. He is a two-time recipient of the General Manager’s Award (1998 and 2006) and was honoured with the Minister of Railways’ Award in 2008.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Shri Tyagi has completed specialised training in Advanced Management in Singapore. He has also gained expertise in track monitoring in Italy, urban train infrastructure systems in Germany and Denmark, and heavy haul systems in the United States.
We believe Shri Tyagi’s presence will add great value to the conference and facilitate meaningful dialogue that will assist innovators and solution providers to deliver a world-class rail infrastructure.

Shri Tiwari holds an engineering degree, a postgraduate degree in Management from ISB, and has completed executive management programs at Wharton Business School, Kellogg School of Management, and FDC Brazil.
Shri Tiwari brings over 3 decades of experience in working with the Government of India and leading corporate entities, which has enabled him to contribute to various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, urban development, transportation, education, and skill development.
Shri Tiwari has held key managerial roles across both the public and private sectors, including positions such as Director at Welspun, Global CEO at Sterlite Power, Managing Director at SunEdison, and Director in the Ministry of Railways. He has also been associated with major urban transit projects and has served as Director at Kochi Metro, Chennai Metro, and Nagpur Metro.
Earlier in his career, he was part of the core leadership team that was responsible for establishing Phase 1 of the Delhi Metro. During his tenure with Kochi Metro, he was involved in facilitating a partnership with Kudumbashree, one of the world’s largest women-led self-help networks, that enabled skill development and employment opportunities for women in facility management roles.
His diverse experience across sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, energy, and skill development is expected to offer valuable insights to the attendees of the 5th edition of InnoMetro, scheduled to be held on 21–22 May 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
