ICAT Joins InnoMetro 2025 as an Exhibitor

We are pleased to announce the participation of the ICAT-International Centre for Automotive Technology as an exhibitor at the 5th edition of InnoMetro.

Established in 2006, ICAT operates under the Ministry Of Heavy Industries, Government of India, as part of the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP). It serves as a key organisation for vehicle testing, homologation, and research in the automotive sector.

ICAT supports the industry through its Design & Engineering division, offering DV/PV testing for a range of automotive components.

ICAT’s Electrical & Electronics (E&E) department provides training on regulatory standards and current developments in areas such as automotive lighting, EMC, electric vehicles, and intelligent transportation systems.

ICAT also has a dedicated team focused on powertrain development, with expertise in calibration, functional development, and validation.

InnoMetro 2025 Welcomes Rail Wheel Plant, Bela as an Exhibitor

We are pleased to announce that Rail Wheel Plant, Bela, will be participating as an exhibitor at the 5th edition of InnoMetro.

Operating under Indian Railways, the Rail Wheel Plant was established in August 2014. In 2016, it expanded its capacity to include the production of wheels for ICF coaches. Currently, the facility manufactures four distinct types of wheels, including BLC, BGC, EMU, and BOXN, and caters to the diverse requirements of Indian Railways.

In alignment with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the plant is dedicated to indigenising its raw materials and proudly stands as the only facility in the world that manufactures wheels exclusively for ICF coaches and EMU trains operated by Indian Railways.

Additionally, the plant is ISO 14001 certified for its environmental management system and has achieved a GreenCo Silver rating. It primarily operates on electricity with supplementary support from liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and has obtained ISO 50001 certification for energy management.

Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, NSDC, NSDCI, becomes the Speaker at InnoMetro 2025

We are proud to welcome Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Executive Officer of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Managing Director, NSDC International (NSDCI), as our esteemed speaker for the 5th edition of InnoMetro.

Shri Tiwari holds an engineering degree, a postgraduate degree in Management from ISB, and has completed executive management programs at Wharton Business School, Kellogg School of Management, and FDC Brazil.

Shri Tiwari brings over 3 decades of experience in working with the Government of India and leading corporate entities, which has enabled him to contribute to various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, urban development, transportation, education, and skill development.

Shri Tiwari has held key managerial roles across both the public and private sectors, including positions such as Director at Welspun, Global CEO at Sterlite Power, Managing Director at SunEdison, and Director in the Ministry of Railways. He has also been associated with major urban transit projects and has served as Director at Kochi Metro, Chennai Metro, and Nagpur Metro.

Earlier in his career, he was part of the core leadership team that was responsible for establishing Phase 1 of the Delhi Metro. During his tenure with Kochi Metro, he was involved in facilitating a partnership with Kudumbashree, one of the world’s largest women-led self-help networks, that enabled skill development and employment opportunities for women in facility management roles.

His diverse experience across sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, energy, and skill development is expected to offer valuable insights to the attendees of the 5th edition of InnoMetro, scheduled to be held on 21–22 May 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Shri Loknath Behera, Kochi Metro Rail Ltd, Joins InnoMetro 2025 as a Special Guest and Speaker

We are proud to welcome Shri Loknath Behera, Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd, as the esteemed Special Guest & Speaker for the 5th edition of InnoMetro. We deeply appreciate his continued association with the event following his participation in the previous edition.

Shri Loknath Behera, a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He previously served as the State Police Chief and Director General of Police for Kerala.

In August 2021, the Government of Kerala appointed him as the Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited. Since assuming this role, Shri Loknath Behera has been actively involved in the progress and expansion of the Kochi Metro project, including the initial planning stages of Phase 3.

Recognising his contribution, the Kerala Government extended his tenure in 2024 by one year to ensure the effective execution of Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Project.

In addition to this, Shri Loknath Behera has also been instrumental in the launch of India’s first Water Metro project in Kochi. Earlier in his career, during his tenure at the National Investigation Agency (NIA), he was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2009, in recognition of his contributions to national security.
